Manila, Philippines 1945
"The aerial photos were taken by me, the land photos by Commander McCoy. I have forgotten how he got
to Manila, but I must have flown him from Subic Bay to Manila Bay and he transferred to a shore boat. It is the only way he
could have gotten there. The Bataan Peninsula was the site of the death march of allied prisoners captured in the fall of Corregidor
and the central Philippines. Our executive officer, Commander McCoy, was in that death march, but unlike many, he survived and escaped.
Quite a story."
